For Members Only: Tour of
"New" Old South Church
Don't miss
the opportunity to explore the Ruskinian
Gothic Revival style 1875 church building
whose congregation hailed from Old South
Meeting House. A National Historic Landmark,
the "new" Old South Church was designed in
1872 by the Boston firm of Cummings and
Sears and features cherry wood pews,
ornately stenciled walls and stained glass
windows. The Puritans who founded Old South
Meeting House would not recognize this
ornate structure as their own, but it
represents another chapter in the life
of this Congregational church, one that
continues today as a vibrant worship
community in the heart of Copley Square.
Join us to learn about the beautiful
architecture, special features, and unique
stories of Old South Church from church
member and docent John Weingartner.
$5 each for OSMH Museum Members and one
guest. To register or to become a
member, please call (617) 482-6439 ext. 10.
