Memorial Day, Monday, May 28 through Labor Day, Monday, September 3, 9:30 am to 5 pm Daily

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Leadership support has been provided by MetLife Foundation through Blue Star Families. The complete list of participating museums is available at www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

Chronicles of Old Boston Book Launch Celebration
Co-sponsored by the Greater Boston Tour Guide Association and funded by the Lowell Institute

Rediscover New England's historic capital through dramatic true stories of Puritans and Patriots, politicians and sports legends that span 400 years of Boston history. In his new book Chronicles of Old Boston, author Charles Bahne includes 29 historic episodes that shaped the "city on a hill" as well as 8 scenic and educational walking tours. Whether you were born and bred in Boston, or are new to its twisted and winding streets, you will enjoy this jaunt through Boston past and present. Book sales and signing. For Members Only! Special Preview Tour of the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum! Get a sneak peek of Boston's brand new attraction--the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum--before it opens to the public in June. This re-imagined experience features cutting edge interactive technology and live performance. But, don't worry! The Brig Beaver, a long-time favorite replica of one of Boston's ill-fated tea ships, is back, beautifully restored and ready for visitors to come aboard! And, she brings with her another replica ship--the larger, merchant vessel Eleanor. This exclusive, private tour will be followed by a spot of tea in Abigail's Tea Room on site. $10 each for OSMH Members ONLY. Registration for this tour closes on Friday, June 15, 2012. No Tax on Tea! A Colonial Tea Tax Debate- On December 16, 1773, more than 5,000 people crowded into Old South Meeting House to debate the tea tax. Now it’s your turn to recreate the fiery, historic debate that started a revolution with the Boston Tea Party! Visitors are invited to either read from prepared character cards or create their own arguments for or against the tax! Admission $1-$6

Whispers of Revolution: Plotting the Boston Tea Party-A Patriot and a Tory share how this iconic protest was planned in secrecy in backrooms, in taverns and in storerooms. Admission $1-$6

For Members Only! Tour of Boston's African Meeting House- Come on a special tour of the recently reopened African Meeting House, the crown jewel of the Museum of African American History, now meticulously restored to its appearance at the height of the antislavery movement. Built in 1806 by primarily free black artisans, the African Meeting House is the oldest extant African American church building in the nation. For over 200 years, the building served as a gather place and organizing center--church, school, meeting place and synagogue--where activism took many forms. You will discover the compelling stories of people such as Frederick Douglass, Maria Stewart and William Lloyd Garrison who made history at this beautiful Boston landmark. $5 each for OSMH Members and one guest. Filene's: Boston's Great Specialty Store                                          Co-sponsored by the Boston Preservation Alliance

Some may know the 1912 building facade in Downtown Crossing as one of only three structures left in New England designed by famed American architect Daniel Burnham, but most Bostonians affectionately recognize the building as the flagship Filene's specialty store. Join us for an illustrated lecture by author Michael Lisicky to hear highlights of his research on Filene's, the revolutionary store that brought fashion and theater to generations of Bostonians. Come learn the remarkable history of how the Filene brothers revolutionized the American retail industry! Free and Open to the Public
